Magic Points (referred to most often in Knights in the Nightmare as "MP") appear in the form of rhombus-shaped gems out of attacked enemies. Collecting them fills the MP Meter, which is required for Break Out! attacks. The amount of MP gems that appear from enemies depends on the thickness of the fog in the current Act Phase; the player must switch between them in order to continue to replenish MP effectively while attacking enemies. The main purpose of normal attacks is to gather MP from foes, rather than do significant damage.
